TDCA Grants

As previously stated, the primary function of the TDCA is to raise funds to enable us to support local associations. We do this by organising an assortment of events from our flagship 'Tideswell Last Night Of The Proms' and a very successful bonfire and firework event, to more modest events such as coffee mornings.

To apply for a Grant please email us with full association details and the exact purpose the grant would be put to.

"Dear Alan,

I am writing on behalf of Nicholson Court to thank you for the Tideswell and District Community Association's generous contribution to our new garden furniture. Please accept my apologies for not replying earlier, but I wanted to wait until we had actually purchased the new furniture and got it installed and in use. The residents eventually opted for metal framed furniture with removable cushions as requiring minimal maintenance and the actual style chosen was particularly good value, it enabled us to purchase two sets of tables and four chairs with parasol as well as a swing seat.

The overall effect on our new terrace is rather pleasing as you may have seen from photographs posted on the Tideswell People Unleashed Facebook page recently, which received a massive amount of 'Likes'. Our first occasion to use the furniture was an impromptu 'Pimms' party which had a good turnout including three residents who don't normally leave their flats. We hope to enjoy more of these occasions, barbecues as the weather permits. I hope some of the TDCA members come out to our open day on the 29th June, and weather permitting there may even become more 'Pimms'"

It will be a delight if we can start to attract butterflies and bees and re-establish native wildflowers on Weston Bank. We hope we can create something that all of Tideswell can enjoy"

" Dear TDCA Committee

This is an official thank you from the Tideswell Community Players for your kind donation of £177, which we have used for the purchase of an LED floodlight. We are trying to modernise our lighting system, and when we have changed all our lights to LED, it will mean that we can use them in any venue, as the LEDs do not draw as much current.

If the TDCA wishes to use the lights at any time when we are not doing a Play, they are very welcome (They are not suitable for outdoor use). We are currently trying to purchase some staging which hopefully, should be delivered next year and if you or any associated group would like to use it you are welcome to borrow that too (as long as it doesn't clash with a Play)
