The TDCA was established in 1978 and is an umbrella body firmly based in the local community that offers support to community associations, sports clubs, societies and village events.
As stated elsewhere, the primary function of the TDCAis to raise funds to enable us to give grants to local associations in need of support. We do this by organising coffee mornings, a very successful bonfire and firework event, and hosting our very own Tideswell Last Night Of The Proms.
As well as organising events the TDCA are also keen to improve the standard of life in the village. Without doubt, one of our crowning glories was the building of the sports complex which was achieved though a mixture of local fund raising, Lottery grants, support from patrons etc, but conceived of and driven by the TDCA.
The TDCA Is also involved with providing flower baskets in the summer, village Christmas lights and organising a Defibrillator, which was sponsored in conjunction with a grant from the Derbyshire Dales Council for Voluntary Service (DDCVS) and installed by kind permission of the CoOp..

TDCA Grants
As stated elsewhere the TDCA prime focus is to raise funds generally for the benefit of village associations and groups.
However, occasionally a cause comes along that we select for special fund raising attention, you will find out more about our current flagship concern on this page.
TDCA Special Campaigns
TDCA fund raising activities are on-going for a wide variety of causes. However occasionally will adopt or focus on a particularly time-pressing or note-worthy cause, such as our Defibrillator campaign.

Green TDCA
The TDCA's 'raison d'etre' is to improve the quality of life for the village and naturally that includes environmental issues, read more about the green policy by using the link below.
TDCA - Our History
The Association was originally formed in 1978 with the principal aim of providing a village hall for Tideswell. Although there were a number of places in the village where people could meet or hold events none of them was felt to be really big enough for a place the size of Tideswell and all lacked some facilities or had restrictions.
TDCA - In Person
The TDCA is entirely run by volunteers who freely give their time up to help improve life in the village and ensure that much loved key events such as 'Last Night Of The Proms' and 'Bonfire' night' happen. These people are your neighbours in the village, to read more about them, please use the link below.
