TDCA Working For The Village

The Tideswell and District Community Association (TDCA) is an umbrella body firmly based in the local community. Our core objective is to promote Tideswell and offer support to community associations, sports clubs, societies and village events. This site is also intended to provide an informal information portal for all things Tideswell.

What do we do?

Through 'fun events' and other activities the TDCA raises money to support local non-profit groups on a grants basis. In addition the TDCA also works with other partner groups in the village such as the Tideswell Parish Council with a general look to improve the quality of life in the village for all residents and visitors, by providing things such as entertainment featuring home-grown village talent, through to improving the village generally by installing flower displays and also assisting with village Christmas lights.

Bonfire And Firework Display

One of the TDCA's most popular events is our well supported Bonfire and Firework display held on the fields behind the sports complex.

Last Night Of The Proms

Tideswell even has it's own very mini Last Night Of The Proms, (LNOTP) featuring Tideswell Band and hosted by St Johns Church. LNOTP was first performed in 2016 and proved to be very popular. 2018 LNOTP has already been arranged, for more info.

Hanging Basket Competition

As well as organising and installing plant troughs ourselves, the TDCA encourages local residents to brighten up the village with their own flower basket arrangements and holds a light-hearted competition for the best displays each summer.
